21 Feb creating bugs

Ok I am on the lookout for a good, (in-camera and post-production) SPECIAL EFFECTS partner in crime.
Said partner should:

-be very creative
-love problem solving
-have a background in special effects or puppets/model building
-love movies (horror movies a plus)
-think making fake bugs crawl and fly around in a movie sounds really fun
-like (maybe love) David Cronenberg movies

If you know anyone who fits this description tell them to contact me.

01 Feb Music Videos

Currently in meetings with two local bands about doing music videos for them and their upcoming albums.  Now the art is sifting through all of the ideas and options, working within the limitations of time and funds, and finding something that will make us all proud.

For Chicken Little the idea involves a junk yard, monsters and perhaps an angry capitalist in a top hat. Now we just need to find/make some fabulous masks to transform the duo.  The Future will be a more performance based video (because the lead singer has some serious dance moves).  But they are all really funny great guys and I know we can come up with something fun and smart to do in the giant black box that we have secured as our location.

So there is something for all of you to look forward to.

12 Jan Something… anything.

Occasionally it is important just to make something… anything.  Sometimes more is learned by a simple act than by the grand gesture for which you were saving all of your energy.  Keeping your muscles strong is as important as lifting the car when something precious is trapped beneath it.

Everyday you need to be able to wrestle the lid from the jar of jam.

It is for this reason that I have made the first in a 4-part series of shorts entitled The Squeaking Floors (here). Sometimes communication is more difficult than the crippling silence and misunderstandings.

01 Jan 2011

Snow falls on the sleeping bear family as winter toils on around them. There is no need to rush or wake they are safe, bellies full of food, thick fur keeping them warm.  Cold gives them permission to rest and wait for spring.  Some of us do not have that luxury.

It is no longer acceptable to wait. There is no later.  I am focused and ready.  This year is going to be the year of constant production, creation and artistic endeavor.

In 2011 look for:

-more music videos (Chicken Little, The Future etc.)

-more short films made with no money and no crew, on my new flip video

-writing new screenplays

-testing special effects and puppets (APOSTROPHE)

-forming creative partnerships in Nashville

-choosing shark over hibernating bear cub in the snow (sharks must always keep moving, or they will die)

08 Dec website da da daaa

Wow I am so excited to have a website. I know that I’m way behind everyone and their children already have websites but I had to wait until I was ready for that kind of commitment and I think now I am responsibile enough as a person to manage and take care of a website the way that you should. They have to be fed and changed, loved and played with. It’s not easy. Anyway, here it is and I love it unconditionally. Come and visit us anytime!
